SLS ultra-compact lens control motor with standard 7-pin digital motor cable Special Trade up program
Ounce for Ounce, the Lightest Most Powerful Lens Control Motor
To create this next-generation lens control motor, we analyzed countless hours of real-world focus performance and listened to feedback from hundreds of remote focus customers. In addition to responsive and reliable performance, we heard smaller cameras and rigs required things to get smaller... a lot smaller.
SLS is so good you'll want to use it on every shot. Fortunately it's small and light enough to keep it on your camera full time. If you are looking for professional performance lens control for your gimbal, as an upgrade to your existing microRemote or other compatible system, or if you want the latest miniaturized technology, SLS is the motor for you.
Featherweight without Compromise
With SLS, we reduced weight everywhere we could without compromising performance. At only 120 grams, you get incredible responsiveness with minimal added bulk. Nothing comes close to the SLS' weight-performance ratio. SLS is exceptional for gimbals and drones, where every saved ounce translates to longer run times and less fatigue.
The weight reduction analysis of SLS was so exact we had to switch from ounces to grams to measure impact of additional design changes. SLS is the lightest professional lens control motor available an engineering feat in itself and without concessions on size and performance. We were even able to add a lens light feature so you can see your lens marks in dim light or darkness.
Any Smaller and We'd Have to Go Quantum
To get SLS this small, we had to completely rethink motor housings. We jettisoned everything that wasn't absolutely necessary. It's as close-to-the-metal as you can get.
Small size doesn't just mean 'tucked away'. SLS is so small you can think of it as a full time extension of your camera, and keep it attached 24/7. Whatever rig or shot you are working with, SLS can be used with the relevant Redrock controller for solo operation or wireless remote control. When paired with the Redrock Rhino Mount, SLS delivers all this with no added footprint. A motor this small is also ideal for rigs where space is a premium: particularly underwater housings, drones, gimbals. It's even a great match for ultra-compact and mirrorless cameras.
Powerful Beyond Its Size
SLS isn't just a small package, the completely new motor delivers a powerful performance punch. With a huge increase in torque and double the resolution, SLS is redefining expectations of what a lens motor should be.
Use SLS on a new System, or upgrade your existing one
SLS is great for building a new system, or upgrading your existing one. SLS and MoVI Pro are a perfect match. They are plug-compatible and share the same ruthless attention to minimal size and weight. Use one motor for focus, or three for full FIZ control. SLS is also a great upgrade for microRemote owners who want increased performance and smaller size. Have another remote focus system? SLS is compatible with many digital lens control systems available today, and is attractively priced to make upgrading a no-brainer.

1. What is the SLS Lens Control Motor?
SLS is the smallest and lightest motor available while still retaining incredible power and precision. Its ideal for professional applications, especially for gimbals, drones, underwater housings, and any situations where small size and lightweight are desired, but performance cannot be compromised
2. Why is SLS ideal for gimbals?
SLS is ounce for ounce the strongest motor you can get. The tiny size and limited weight are a huge benefit for gimbals, and a version is designed to natively plug in to the Freefly MoVI Pro lens controller.
3. What kinds of lenses can I use with SLS?
SLS motors are compatible with virtually all cinema and still photographic lenses with an industry standard 0.8 film pitch gear
4. How is SLS mounted?
SLS has an ingenious motor positioning and quick-release system designed for 15mm rods.
5. Can I adjust the position of SLS motor on the lens? What if its too far away?
Yes. The rod clamp can be moved up and down the motor to position it correctly on the lens. The built-in adjustments covers most situations, but if additional reach is needed you can use the Redrock Dogbone adapter
6. How do SLS motors compare to Atlas and Torque motors you offer?
Atlas motors are our flagship motors, they incorporate both the controller and powerful motor in one, and offer advanced features like wifi, mobile app configuration, and lens reading. SLS are equally powerful motors designed to be the smallest and lightest weight motors available. Torque motors work for most situations and are a great value.
7. Can I use SLS motors for focus, iris, or zoom?
Yes they can be used on any lens ring
8. How is SLS powered?
SLS motors take power from the basestation (or brain) and use standard 12-18volt input
9. How do you configure the SLS motor?
Configuration of motor settings including torque level is handled by the basestation
10. Can I turn off the lens light or dim it?
11. How is SLS different than the Torque motors?
SLS is a completely new motor. It is approximately 300% stronger and 200% smoother than Torque motors
12. Can I use it with Freefly MoVI Pros lens controller?
Yes. Like the Torque motor, the SLS motor is compatible with MoVI Pro built-in lens controller
13. Can I upgrade my microRemote with an SLS motor?
Yes, simply plug it in and it works. Make sure you use the version with the 7-pin digital motor connection. You may also require a firmware update in your basestation for full compatibility
14. Can I use my existing microRemote fingerwheel or SLS hand unit with SLS?
Yes. The SLS motor plugs in to the microRemote basestation, and is compatible with all microRemote accessories
