Use this cable to activate recording function on your RED Camera from your microRemote BNC connector to fit RED 3BNC-TO-00 SYNC cable, or equivalent method.
Control
The Run/Stop Cable for the RED Epic or Scarlet allows for the camera’s recording function to be triggered wirelessly from the microRemote Handheld Controller. ACs can now trigger the record function of the RED remotely, whether the camera is inaccessible on a crane, or the AC is simply not near the camera. In addition, the microRemote Handheld Controller will indicate when recording is active as well as when it is idle.
Wireless Triggering
Gone are the days of external 9V battery packs and dedicated power to accommodate the RED Run/Stop Protocol. The Run/Stop Cable for RED Epic/Scarlet has all the necessary electronics integrated into one slim cable. The Run/Stop Cable for RED Epic/Scarlet connects to the RED 3BNC-TO-00 SYNC CABLE, or equivalent, and allows the timecode and genlock of the camera to still be accessed.
